Making homemade soaps is fun

About 6 months ago, someone bought me a book on how to make homemade soaps. It was kind of random, but I had mentioned to the person that I had always wanted to make my own soap and she remembered that from almost a year ago. Anyways, when I first flipped through the book, I was a little put off. You have to use sodium hydroxide (lye) as an ingredient and it’s actually a rather dangerous chemical. There was a scene from the movie Fight Club where one of the characters had lye poured on his hand and it burned right through his skin. But I quickly got over my fear and decided to try it. Now my soaps are coming out amazing and they smell better than anything I’ve ever bought from a store.
