New Counselor Feels Left Out
This was my first year as a camp counselor in the drama program. It seemed like everyone else was so experienced and knew just what to do. I felt so useless because I had to keep asking someone what I was supposed to be doing, where I was supposed to be and how to do it. I was surprised they had not assigned a mentor to me. I was beginning to feel lonely. Everyone was so busy and I felt like an extra useless person. I felt a hand on my shoulder and spun around to see the most handsome guy I have ever seen in my life. He said, “Hi, I’m Stephen, your mentor.”
